Post-Bachelor Specialization in Community Nursing

Course presentation

The post-bachelor course in Specialization in Community Nursing lasts three academic semesters, the first theoretical semester being the second theoretical / practical and the third semester of internship.
This course confers the necessary qualification to obtain the professional title of Specialist Nursing in Community Nursing, conferred by the Order of Nurses.

Goals

The Post-Bachelor Course in Specialization in Community Nursing aims to ensure the acquisition of high-quality scientific, technical, human and cultural skills so that professionals are able to provide differentiated assistance in the area of the Course. In this sense, students are expected to be able to:
Acquire scientific, technical and human knowledge and skills necessary to provide specialized nursing care in the community;
Develop appropriate communication and communication skills for individuals, groups or communities;
Demonstrate critical and reflective capacity that enables personal and professional development throughout life;
Develop resource management capacities in order to design, plan, carry out and evaluate community intervention programs;
Develop humanistic principles of respect for values, customs, religions and all other aspects provided for in the Deontological Code of Nurses looking for excellence in professional practice.

Access conditions

Candidates who meet the conditions set out in article 12 of Administrative Rule 268/2002 of March 13 may apply for this course:
a) Hold a degree in Nursing, or legal equivalent;
b) Hold the professional title of nurse (Ordem dos Enfermeiros – Portugal);
c) Have at least two years of professional experience as a nurse.
