POST-GRADUATION URGENCY AND EMERGNCY

Course presentation

The Post-graduation Course in Urgency and Emergency aims to ensure the acquisition of scientific, technical, relational and ethical skills adequate to the provision of health care in urgency and emergency situations. The course also aims to enable students to integrate multidisciplinary teams contributing to the rapid access of specialized teams in order to avoid deterioration of clinical status. In addition to promoting the development of good practices in the context of an urgent situation, it is intended to prepare nurses who are able to intervene and deal with a critical situation, to stabilize the patient and to enable adequate transportation. The learning outcomes proposed for the Course assume as a prerequisite the possession of a degree in nursing. Thus, considering that students already possess the competences established for the first level of nursing training, it is intended that they develop and deepen them in the area of emergencies and emergencies, providing more complex care. Members of emergency teams must be trained in addition to the training provided to the general public. These should be encouraged to participate in postgraduate courses, which include contents such as: Advanced Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life Support, etc.
