Master’s Degree in Community Nursing

Course presentation

The Master’s Degree in Community Nursing aims to:
Ensure the acquisition of scientific, technical, human and cultural skills, so that professionals are able to provide specialized assistance to the individual, family, groups and community;
To enable the nurse to integrate multidisciplinary teams that promote highly specialized care in the field of Community Nursing;
To qualify for the development of research in the field of Community Nursing, contributing to the creation of scientific evidence.

Goals

With the objectives of this Master’s Degree, directed to the area of Community Nursing, we intend that students throughout the course develop the following competencies::

To acquire scientific, technical, human and ethical knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in Community Nursing;
Develop appropriate relational and communication skills for individuals, groups and / or communities; longo da vida;
Demonstrate critical and reflective capacity that allows for personal and professional development throughout life;
Develop resource management capacities in order to design, plan, carry out and evaluate community intervention programs;
Demonstrate humanistic principles of respect for values, customs, religions and all other aspects provided for in the Code of Ethics of Nurses looking for excellence in professional practice.

Access conditions

They can apply for the study cycle (under the terms of article 17 of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, dated March 24, republished by Decree-Law no. 65/2018, of August 16 ):
a) Holders of the degree of licenciado or legal equivalent;
b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as satisfying the objectives of the degree of licenciado by the scientific body competent of the higher education institution where they wish to be admitted;
d) Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting to the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the scientific body that is legally competent in the higher education institution where they wish to be admitted.
